Born Out Of Necessity, Grown With Love!
Out of darkness often come glimmers of light, and Buckler Essential was one such ray. We started this venture during the Covid-19 pandemic when we spotted a market gap for safe, effective, and nourishing hand sanitizers.
In a time of upheaval and chaos, merchants were taking advantage of people’s desperation. As a result, we were forced to search frantically for sanitizing solutions, purchasing chemical formulas that dried and irritated skin over time.
We set out to create a product that would:
1 - Be highly effective in combating bacteria and germs
2 - Smell divine with aromatherapy qualities (no sterile scents)
3 - Would nourish our hands instead of drying them out
4 - Use WHO-approved ingredients sourced from reputable ISO certified companies
What started as a simple product idea has transformed into a global lifestyle brand that encompasses all facets of wellbeing.
the meaning behind the name
Psalms 91:4 reads
"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler."
A buckler is a small shield, up to 45 cm in diameter, gripped in the fist with a central handle behind the boss. While being used in Europe since antiquity, it became more common as a companion weapon in hand-to-hand combat during the Medieval and Renaissance periods.
Our sanitizing hand-guard acts as a defender and protector against disease because it helps to prevent the growth of disease-causing microorganisms on the hand.
Who are we?
We’re Ebony and Taffney - friends, sisters, business partners. Our meeting was one of those moments that can only be described as divine intervention. But not only did God connect us in the most authentic way possible, he activated the Divine Spark in both of us that would drive us to start our own business and create life-changing value in the marketplace.
Ebony
Mother of 2 gorgeous daughters and qualified scientist from Langston University, Ebony uses her wealth of education and experience in labs to create science-backed products. When she’s not creating concoctions in her white coat, she spends her time educating and empowering female youth to develop their careers and create opportunities.
Taffney
Sought after motivation speaker, business mentor, and business operations leader. Taffney strategizes and runs operations that retain Buckler Essentials place as a market leader in wellbeing. As a Public Relations extraordinaire with years of experience leading large teams, she enjoys developing organizational structures that deliver scalable results. She’s also highly passionate about empowering and training female youth to achieve new heights in all facets of life.
